Hi, we are Billy and Emily!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile and for considering us as you make this decision for your child. We are so thankful for you and we understand that this is a difficult and emotional journey. We admire your courage and strength, we cannot begin to thank you enough for considering this brave choice for your child. We will be forever grateful that you considered us and would share your story with your child throughout their lifetime.
We have been married for 9 years. We met in high school and dated through our entire college experience and got married the following September. Throughout our marriage, we have longed to become parents. After trying to have a child on our own without success, we worked with a fertility specialist. After multiple attempts were unsuccessful, we now believe that God has had a plan for us throughout our journey and that plan has led us to adoption.
We can never thank you enough for considering us and reading our profile. We understand how difficult this decision is for you and know how strong you are for making a decision for your child.
Family: Both of our families live in the same town that we live in. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful support system for us. Billy has one brother who is 7 years younger. Emily has twin sisters who are 2 years younger. We spend a lot of time with both sides of our family especially when there is a birthday, family get-together, or when we go camping.
Career: Billy works at his father’s RV business and he loves his career. Emily is a 2nd-grade teacher in our local school district and she loves teaching and wouldn’t trade her job for anything.
Travel/Vacations: In the past ten plus years together we have enjoyed vacationing in New York City, North Carolina, Florida, Ocean City (NJ & MD), Washington D.C., the Bahamas and Jamaica. We also enjoy camping in various locations in central Pennsylvania in the spring, summer, and fall. Although we have not been to Disney World as a couple, a family vacation there is one we can’t wait to take!
Watching TV shows and movies together
Going shopping together
Spending time with our families and our pets
Skiing, we skied growing up and recently started going again
Camping, sitting by the fire, hiking, walking our dog Sammy, and fishing
Both sets of our parents have been married for over 30 years and live within 5 minutes of us. We are very fortunate to have a great network of family and friends to support us. Billy’s brother lives just minutes away. Billy has one set of grandparents that are still alive and live close by most of the year. Emily’s sisters both live a few hours away from our house. We both have aunts, uncles, and cousins who also live close to us. In addition to our families, we have two pets that we love. Our dog, Sammy, is 7 years old and he is a sweet, loving dog who loves spending time with us. Our Cat, Gidget, is 4 years old, energetic and loves to play. We enjoy spending time with our family and our pets.
We live in a small, rural community located in the heart of Central Pennsylvania. Our town is surrounded by the Pennsylvania Wilds (forests & State Parks) which is just one of the benefits of living in a rural area. Another benefit of living in our community is having the Susquehanna River run through our town where we can go kayaking and swimming during the summer. We are in walking distance of a township park that has recently been updated with a new playground and handicapped accessible swings. This is a great place where we can walk our dog, Sammy. Though we live in a small town, we are only 30 minutes away from a large university and just a few hours from major cities.
