Hi, we are Matthew and Karen!
We would like to thank you for considering adoption and for taking the time to learn more about our family. We know that the choice can’t be an easy one and are truly grateful for the opportunity to introduce you to our family. We have been happily married for seven years. We enjoy our time together more and more every day. We have been excited about adopting a child for a long time. We are ready to be parents and would love the opportunity to help a child grow and develop into an extraordinary human being. We both have nurturing, loving personalities who believe that a child will fill our home with even greater happiness than we already experience.
Again, thank you for taking the time to read more about us. We can’t possibly understand how difficult this must be for you, but we know how strong you must be. We sincerely appreciate your consideration!
Both of us are extremely close to our families. Matthew’s family lives locally, and Karen’s family lives in Maryland. Our siblings are some of the most important people in our lives, and we talk to them or see them almost every day. Our parents are constant sources of love and support and are very excited to become grandparents!
Karen works in Human Resources at a manufacturing facility. She loves all of the challenges her job brings, especially when she can help employees who are struggling. Matthew is a Deputy Clerk Specialist. He enjoys the people he works with and the variety that comes with working in a small office.
We love to travel! Some of our favorite places are the mountains in western Maryland, Ghana in West Africa, and Vienna, Austria. We also love going camping, especially in upstate New York and in Canada.
Matthew and Karen met at an amusement park in the summer of 2006. Our mutual friends thought we were a perfect match and tried to arrange things so that we could spend time together. We started dating shortly after our first meeting and found that we are alike in many ways but different enough to keep things interesting. Things have not always been easy, but we rely on each other during difficult times and genuinely enjoy each other’s company even after 10 years of being together. We are strong believers in communication, trust, and comfort, and have structured our family on those principles. We love to have fun together and share a silly sense of humor that sometimes leaves us laughing without really knowing why.
We live in a townhouse in a quiet, suburban area. Our neighborhood is great for taking our dogs on a walk or sitting on the deck and chatting with the neighbors. It is a really friendly, fun place to live. We are also lucky to live close to the Perkiomen trail, which is a bike path that runs near a river, and the Spring Mount ski resort, which is a lot of fun in the winter. There is always something interesting going on, and we look forward to exploring with your baby.
